Shenzhen's Main Stock Index Hits Four-Year High Amid Buoyant Day

(Yicai Global) Feb. 21 -- The Shenzhen Component Index notched the highest level in four years this afternoon amid climbs across the three major mainland stock benchmarks.

The Shenzhen Component Index ended 1.05 percent higher at 11,629.70. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, closed 1.82 percent up at 2,226.64. The Shanghai Composite Index finished 0.31 percent up at 3,039.67.

The Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets' combined daily trading volumes reached over CNY1 trillion (USD142 billion) during three consecutive days for the first time since last year's March 8. The ChiNext Index was the busiest today.
