(Yicai Global) April 1 --Shanghai had detected seven more imported novel coronavirus cases as of yesterday, taking the eastern metropolis' total confirmed Covid-19 cases to 516, the city's health commission said this morning.
Among the new additions, there were four Chinese citizens, two French and one American, according to the commission. Two arrived in Shanghai from the United Kingdom, two traveled from France, and the rest came from Thailand, Spain and Indonesia.
Authorities have traced 48 people who had been in contact with the patients during their journeys and placed them under quarantine, it added.
Some 20 suspected cases, also involving people who have recently been overseas, are undergoing further tests.
The commission logged no new suspected or confirmed domestically transmitted cases yesterday. However, a 63-year-old woman died yesterday, taking the city's death tally to six.
Shanghai has confirmed 516 Covid-19 cases so far, including 177 from overseas. Some 163 of the patients who brought the virus into the city from outside China are being treated, with three in serious condition, and 14 have been discharged upon recovery.
Of the 339 local cases, five are in critical condition and one is stable. A total of 327 patients have fully recovered and been discharged from hospital, the commission said.
