Shanghai’s Jing’an District Attracts Nearly 330 HR Firms Shanghai’s Jing’an District Attracts Nearly 330 HR Firms

(Yicai Global) April 20 -- Jing’an has lured almost 330 human resource service providers from around the world to set up offices in one of Shanghai’s central districts.

More than 40 of the HR firms in the district are units of multinational corporations, Yicai Global learned from the district bureau of HR and social security. Besides traditional suppliers of outsourcing services, there are firms that offer high-end talent services, including skill assessment, Wang Guangrong, bureau chief said during an event yesterday.

Overall, the 326 companies are doing businesses in more than 180 countries and regions and they introduced 26,000 workers to the eastern city last year, including almost 2,060 new hires coming from overseas, according to official data.

These institutions serve not only Shanghai but also the Yangtze River Delta, the entire country, and even the global market in talent introduction, Wang added.

As more Chinese companies widen their business scopes abroad, the demand for overseas services provided by HR companies is rising, besides new talent introduction, it also includes management plans, remuneration, and labor laws, another official from the same bureau said.

The official added that the bureau strives to help local HR firms find business opportunities overseas in the footsteps of Chinese firms that go global.
