(Yicai Global) Nov. 1 -- Shanghai has almost completed preparations for the fifth China International Import Expo, to be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center from Nov. 5 to Nov. 10.
Under the leadership of the organizing committee of the expo, Shanghai formed a working force responsible for the city’s service security to carry out 216 key tasks divided between 17 security teams, Gu Honghui, deputy secretary general of Shanghai’s municipal government, said today.
The city built a thorough anti-Covid-19 system to protect exhibitors and visitors at the expo, adjusted traffic, and prepared accommodation, food, and beverages for them to have a pleasant experience at this year’s CIIE.
Exclusive access points and reception service centers at airports and railway stations were also set up to provide visitors with an all-round service. Shanghai will shorten waiting intervals between trains, open more bus routes, allocate around 1,900 parking spots, and deploy 2,500 new energy taxis.
Nearly 950 hotels with 163,200 rooms will be available for CIIE visitors. There will be 44 fixed food and beverage shops at the exhibition area, two temporary ones, and seven mobile dining vehicles. They can serve 97,700 people at lunchtime, for a total of 140,000 per day.
Shanghai customs set up 110 exclusive, around-the-clock windows and access points to ease customs clearance for visitors. To cut waiting time, the city also allowed exhibitors and visitors to apply for and renew their identity certificated online.
Over 3,740 volunteers will assist visitors with guidance, language issues, and other services. Five medical stations equipped with 20 ambulances will be present at the CIIE. There will also be 35 designated hospitals in the surroundings.
