With China pursuing innovation-driven development and Shanghai striving to become a city of innovation, Shanghai companies have been able to discover opportunities, innovate business models and integrate sustainable development into their strategies by examining environmental and social problems, said Yu Zhihong, an expert from GoldenBee (Beijing) Management Consulting Co.
This year's award-winning cases focus on urban sustainable development and tell stories of how domestic and foreign companies work with Shanghai to build a city of innovation, ecology and culture. Shared bikes and electric bicycles using liquefied air oxygen combustion technology reduce carbon emissions, and smart lighting solutions illustrate how Shanghai encourages companies to develop solutions to problems in the city and meet new demand to promote the city's overall operation.
The event also put up a Sustainable Action Dissemination Influence Award for the first time to encourage more firms to spread the stories of Shanghai's development.
