(Yicai Global) Feb. 5 -- Shanghai Daimay Automotive Interior Co. plans to acquire auto sun visor-related assets and businesses of the US company Motus Integrated Technologies. The Chinese firm has already made a binding proposal regarding the acquisition, it said in a statement.

The target assets fall under the same category as the company's main business, it said. The acquisition will make a positive impact on the company's future development, enhance its core competitiveness and strengthen its leading position in the auto parts market, the statement added.

However, it gave no further details about the proposed asset transaction, except for saying that the binding offer was made based on the vendor's materials and due diligence conducted by the company. The US firm was not available for comment on the suggested deal.

Motus Integrated Technologies is a manufacturer of high-performance headliners and unlit, illuminated and auxiliary coverage sun visors and compression formed products for the global automotive market, it says on its website.  It operates what it calls a "state-of-the-art manufacturing platform with seven facilities across four countries."
