(Yicai Global) Oct. 14 -- Chinese mainland shares consolidated their gains in morning trade, with the large cap-heavy Shanghai Composite Index rebounding to its highest point in nearly one month.
The index rose 1.38 percent to 3,014.73 going into the lunch break, while the Shenzhen Component Index finished 1.32 percent stronger at 9,794.37. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, closed up 0.93 percent at 1,682.41 at the bell.
Investor confidence in China's financial market has glowed following reports of substantial progress in high-level economic and trade talks between China and the US late last week.
