(Yicai Global) Mar.21 -- Shanghai added nine newly confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus disease Covid-19 from other countries yesterday, taking the citywide total of imported patients to 42, according to the local health authorities.

Of the nine new cases, seven patients are Chinese citizens returning from Britain, France, Switzerland and the United States, and the other two are French citizens traveling from France, the Shanghai Health Commission said. The city has also put 39 suspected patients from overseas under quarantine for testing.

Shanghai had no new cases that would suggest domestic transmission as of yesterday. The municipality has reported a total of 338 indigenous confirmed cases.

Among all cases, 326 have been discharged from hospital after recovering and 51 are still being treated. Three people have died.
