Shanghai Adds Eight COVID-19 Cases; Imported Case Total Is 33 Shanghai Adds Eight COVID-19 Cases; Imported Case Total Is 33

(Yicai  Global) March 20 -- Shanghai has discovered eight more COVID-19 cases  to reach a total of 33 cases coming from abroad as of yesterday, the city's health commission said this morning.

Among the new additions, seven patients are Chinese citizens and one is a Spanish national. Three of them arrived in Shanghai from the UK, two from Spain, and the rest traveled to the eastern city from Germany, the  US and Switzerland, according to the commission.

Authorities have traced 93 people who had been in contact with the eight people during their journeys and put them under quarantine, said the commission.

The city so far has 23 suspected cases, only involving people who have recently been overseas, who are undergoing further tests.

Shanghai had no new cases that would suggest domestic transmission as of yesterday.

Among  the city's total of 371 patients, three have died, nine are in critical  condition, and 33 are stable. Some 326 people have fully recovered and  been discharged from hospitals, the commission added.
