(Yicai Global) July 12 -- Shenzhen Selen Science and Technology Co. [SHE:002341] will provide a lithium battery maker with aluminum-plastic films for packaging.

The Shenzhen-based new material developer said in an announcement yesterday that its wholly-owned subsidiary Selen Composite Science and Technology (Changzhou) Co. had signed a purchase framework contract with Do-Fluoride (Jiaozuo) New Energy Technology Co. (DFD New Energy), based on which Selen Composite will become DFD New Energy's biggest aluminum-plastic film supplier, providing 2.31 million square meters of film in the following year.

The sales price of the aluminum-plastic film product will be based on the minimum market price, the announcement said. The document did not give additional pricing details.

DFD New Energy is a well-known soft package lithium battery producer in China, the announcement said. The contract will help Selen Science and Technology consolidate its leading position in the domestic lithium battery aluminum-plastic film market.

Selen Science and Technology completed its acquisition of T and T Enertechno Co.'s soft package lithium battery aluminum-plastic film project in July 2016 and later invested USD36.8 million (CNY250 million) to build a new lithium battery aluminum-plastic film production line.
