(Yicai Global) Nov. 23 -- Shares of Sanfo Outdoor Products rose after the Chinese retailer of outdoor sporting goods said it has penned a deal to sponsor China’s national snow sports teams.
Sanfo’s share price [SHE: 002780] ended 4.4 percent up at CNY18.92 (USD2.96), after jumping as much as 7.3 percent earlier today.
Sanfo will supply the 11 national teams with X-Bionic underwear, face masks, and ski neck guards and X-Socks ski socks, according to the one-year sponsorship deal it inked yesterday with the Winter Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sports of China.
The ski teams of more than 20 European countries use products from the well-known Swiss sportswear brands X-Bionic and X-Socks, Sanfo said. Earlier this month, the Beijing-based company said it had acquired their trademark and related patent rights in China for about CHF10.3 million (USD11 million).
Under the deal, Sanfo will be able to use the designation Freeski Halfpipe National Team Supplier and be entitled to use images of active athletes in the teams, it said in a statement late yesterday. No financial details were provided.
