(Yicai Global) Oct. 10 -- Guangdong province-based concrete admixer company Redwall New Materials will cooperate with Japan's Toho Chemical Industry to develop new concrete additives and market-related products.

The two companies have signed a two-year technical cooperation agreement, Redwall New Materials announced yesterday.

The Chinese firm will steer new concrete additive development while Tokyo-based Toho Chemical Industry will undertake raw material research for Redwall New Materials to develop final products, per the announcement.

Rights to any intellectual property that may come into being during the cooperation will belong to whichever party develops it, while research expenses are also separately assumed, per the announcement.

Toho Chemical Industry will submit all the concrete additive raw materials and functional compounds it wishes to sell in China to Redwall New Materials, which will have the right of first refusal on these products, and to conduct functionality testing on them for free, the announcement said.

Toho Chemical Industry is a well-known company that uses ethylene oxide to produce various surfactants -- compounds that lessen surface tension between two liquids, a liquid and a gas or liquid and solid -- per the announcement.

The cooperation will enhance Redwall New Materials' concrete additive research capacity.
