(Yicai Global) Sept. 23 -- The QIC-Ping An China Corporate Bond Fund, set up by Queensland Investment and China's Ping An Asset Management Company, staged its official debut today.

This is the first product to emerge after the two companies signed their corresponding framework agreement in 2016, the Shanghai Securities News reported.

The fund is one of the first overseas channels affording investors access to China's corporate bond market -- the world's second-largest -- which was traditionally limited to locals before the Bond Connect opened access to foreign investors in July 2017.

Queensland Investment is a sovereign fund owned by the northeastern Australian state of the same name. It has over USD80 billion in assets under management and clients in Australia, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and US.

Ping An Asset Management formed in Shanghai in 2005. It is China's second-largest asset management company, overseeing over CNY3 trillion (USD423 billion) in assets.
