(Yicai Global) July 12 -- Xie Haoming has left his position as president of Hainan Airlines Holding after just six months at the helm, due to what the company describes as a "work adjustment."
Xie, 45, will also leave his posts as legal representative, director and member of the board's special committee, the Haikou, Hainan province-based firm said in a statement yesterday. Vice President Chen Ming will cover his duties in the interim, it added.
The company did not disclose Xie's reasons nor explain his future plans; nor did it when his predecessor Bao Qifa resigned in January this year. Xie joined Hainan Airlines in 1995 and has filled a series of roles within the group. This was his second stint at president after he held the role from November 2016 to June 2017, but left to head up affiliate Tianjin Airlines.
Hainan Airlines and its parent, HNA Group, has been struggling with liquidity over the past couple of years after an international spending binge that cost USD50 billion and included a stake in Deutsche Bank -- which recently quit its investment banking business. The conglomerate has been selling off properties and other assets since early 2018.
