(Yicai Global) Aug. 10 -- PowerChina, official Power Construction Corp. of China Ltd. [SHA:601699], will work with China Shandong International Economic and Technical Cooperation Group Co. (CSI) to build a 20-kilometer elevated expressway for an airport in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, in a deal worth over USD1 billion.
A consortium made up of a wholly-owned PCCC subsidiary and CSI has signed an engineering, procurement and construction contract with Dhaka No. 1 Elevated Expressway Co., the listed company said on Aug. 8. Construction is set to last 42 months.
The consortium will be formed on a 50-50 basis, the statement said.
The project mainly includes the construction of main roads, auxiliary roads and access roads for the expressway, toll stations, weigh stations, central control buildings and ancillary facilities, the firm added.
