(Yicai Global) May 31 -- Portugal's treasury agency has issued the eurozone's first yuan-denominated bond in order to sell its debt in China.
The Treasury and Debt Management Agency of Portugal launched CNY2 billion (USD289.4 million) worth of 'Panda bonds' that will mature on June 3, 2022. Poland and Hungary, which have not adopted the euro, have also taken Panda bonds onboard to broaden their investor bases.
