(Yicai Global) Nov. 1 -- Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China Ltd. [SHA:601318; HK:2318] said yesterday that it will work with Tsinghua University to set up the Global Financial and Economic Development Research Center and the Global Medical and Health Research Center in the school's Institute of Global Development to build a leading think tank in the financial and medical fields.

Li Jiange, president of the Sun Yefang Fiscal Science Foundation and vice chairman of Central Huijin Investment Ltd., will lead the establishment of the Global Finance and Economic Development Research Center.

The facility will focus on financial institution reform, financial risk prevention and the development of the modern financial industry system. It will deeply explore financial research for the Belt and Road, studying global financial crisis prevention and asset bubbles as well as the influence of international cutting-edge artificial intelligence, cloud, blockchain and big data technologies and their effects on the global financial industry.

National Health and Family Planning Commission Deputy Director Jin Xiaotao will provide guidance for the establishment the Global Medical and Health Research Center.

It will focus researching the medical applications of AI, personal health risks, the administration of medical service institutions, the health economy and health big data.
