(Yicai) Nov. 19 -- The 19th China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair in Guangzhou drew more than 10,000 buyers and 120,000 visitors, generating intended transactions worth over CNY96 billion (USD13.3 million) a year.
Leading companies in key supply chains signed intended procurement deals with specialized and innovative SMEs, the organizing committee of the four-day event that ended yesterday told Yicai.
Specialized and innovative SMEs are characterized by specialization, refinement, distinctiveness, and innovation. They were first mentioned in the Chinese government work report in March 2022.
The CISMEF featured companies from the low-altitude economy, high-end equipment, robotics core components, biomedicine, advanced medical equipment, and other sectors this year. Digital transformation in manufacturing and overseas business expansion were the key topics among exhibitors.
The fair designated special exhibition areas for provincial specialized and innovative enterprises, focusing on traditional, advantageous, emerging, and future industries. It hosted 1,478 enterprises from 30 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities, five specially administered cities, and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.
Nearly 2,000 enterprises from 37 countries and regions, including China, Malaysia, Canada, South Korea, Iran, and Thailand, attended the CISMEF, taking over 2,800 exhibition booths.
The 20th CISMEF will be held from June 27 to 30 next year in Guangzhou, with the goal to further establish the fair as a high-level platform for specialized and innovative SMEs' development and international cooperation.
