Operator of Live Video Streaming Platform Inke Submits Hong Kong IPO Prospectus Operator of Live Video Streaming Platform Inke Submits Hong Kong IPO Prospectus

(Yicai Global) March 27 -- China's Inke Ltd., operator of popular live video streaming platform and app Inke, submitted a draft version of its initial public offering prospectus to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, without specifying the exact size of the planned share issuance. The move comes after its failed attempt to list on the Chinese mainland stock market last year.

It plans to spend funds it will raise through IPO on product diversification, marketing and strategic investment activities, according to the filing.

The firm registered operating income of CNY28.7 million (USD.4.5 million) in 2015, CNY4.335 billion in 2016 and CNY3.941 billion last year. Its net profits came in at CNY1.5 billion in 2015, CNY568 million in 2016 and CNY792 million last year.

The number of its monthly active users soared to 25.1 million in the end of last year, up from 22.1 million in the first quarter, but down from 30 million in the last quarter of 2016.

Despite the negative growth in user numbers, Inke posted substantial profit gains from the average monthly user subscription fees, which surged to CNY673 million last quarter from CNY186 million in the third quarter of 2016.

Its backdoor listing attempt in China's A-share market last year failed due to its suggested overvaluation despite weak financials, media reports said. Inke's move also follows Hong Kong's decision to overhaul its listing rules, which aims to attract major Chinese mainland firms to its stock market.
