(Yicai Global) Sept. 17 -- Some 10.7 in every 100 Chinese citizens journeyed abroad last year, according to a report co-authored by Airbnb and Yicai Global affiliate Yicai CBN Data.
Citizens made an average of four domestic trips throughout the year, the report, published yesterday, shows. Millennials were the driving force behind the travel market, making up 80 percent of bookings made online.
Chinese residents had a per-capita disposable income of CNY51,000 (USD7,195) in 2018, compared with CNY26,000 in 2013, the report added. Per-capita expenditure on education and entertainment had increased to CNY2,200 (USD310) from CNY1,400 over the same period.
