(Yicai Global) Sept. 22 -- After taking on Seattle in the US and London in Britain, Chinese bicycle-sharing platform Ofo is entering the Czech Republic, Italy, Russia and the Netherlands.

Ofo said today that it is moving into five famous European cities -- Prague, Milan, Moscow, Rotterdam and Groningen and introducing its bike rental service in Thailand's Phuket Island, Tech.163.com reported.

The bicycles it is putting on the market all feature the newest generation of smart lock, providing accurate positioning and big data services to achieve more standardized management and operation.

Ofo is rolling its bikes into the Seventh district of Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. It will put 300 bicycles into the market during the first phase and charge USD0.60 (EUR0.50) for every 30 minutes of use. Some 4,000 Ofo bikes are set to enter Milan next month with a similar fee.

Ofo has established a cooperation with Russian local enterprise Velobike, with a trial expected to start in Moscow in early next year. Ofo will enter historic cycling city Groningen and tourism port city Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

Ofo put 1,000 bicycles on Phuket Island today, World Car Free Day, to meet the travel demand of residents and tourists.

Ofo belongs to Beijing Bikelock Technology Co. Since initiating its global strategy, Ofo had previously taken its business to eight overseas countries -- Singapore, the UK, the US, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan and Austria.

With the announced plan, the company is bringing its total to 13 countries, nearing its goal of entering 20 countries and 200 cities by the end of the year.
