(Yicai Global) Oct. 20 -- Chinese bike-sharing company Beijing Bikelock Technology Co. (Ofo) said yesterday that it has hired Chris Nakutis Taylor, a former Uber Technologies Inc. senior executive, to run its US business.

"We are thrilled to bring Chris on to run Ofo's US operations," said Ofo founder and Chief Executive Dai Wei. "Since launching in August, we have seen Ofo taking off in the US, where we have enormous potential. Chris's strong background in tech, whether at his own start-up or his time at Uber, make him the right person to expand Ofo even further."

Ofo operates in 180 cities in 16 countries. It has introduced its bicycle sharing service in American cities such as Seattle and Washington DC.

Taylor was one of Uber's first 250 employees. He was once the general manager of UberEATs, the group's catering service, for the southern and western US. He graduated from Northwestern University and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
