(Yicai Global) Jan. 11 -- Chinese new-energy vehicle unicorn NextEV Inc. has selected Changshu Antolin Automotive Interiors Co. as a first-tier supplier of doors and dashboards for its first product, the all-electric ES8 sports utility vehicle, which will enter mass production this year.
Changshu Antolin, a joint-stock company of Changshu Automotive Trim Co., based in China's eastern Jiangsu province, will provide related components during the lifecycle of the SUV, it said in a press briefing yesterday.
Shanghai-based NextEV started pre-orders for its middle-to-large-sized SUV last month, with full production expected this year.
Other customers of Changshu Automotive Trim include FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., SAIC General Motors Corp. and Beijing Benz Automotive Co., a joint venture between BAIC Motor and Daimler AG.
Founded in 2014, NextEV's investors include internet titans Tencent Holdings Ltd., Baidu Inc. and JD.Com Inc. Its latest USD1 billion funding round values the carmaker at USD5 billion.
