(Yicai Global) July 19 -- China's National Big Data Alliance for New-Energy Vehicles, which was formed recently by the Beijing Institute of Technology and leading auto manufacturers in China, held its inaugural meeting yesterday in the country's capital.

More than 200 companies and departments including China's National Monitoring and Management Center for New-Energy Vehicles, NEV manufacturers, parts suppliers, internet application service providers and scientific research institutions are part of the coalition, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

The group said it will push big data technology integration, develop and utilize NEV data resources and provide high-quality data services to the government, enterprises and the public.

The alliance will organize seminars, publish reports and release annual white papers on NEV big data development and set up a big data research and development foundation. 

The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and Society of Automotive Engineers of China and leading carmakers including FAW Group Corp., Dongfeng Motor Corp., Changan Automobile (Group) Co., SAIC Motor Corp. [SHA:600104] and Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co. are members of the alliance.
