Nanjing Tycho's Wheel Defect Detection System Passes US Railroads Authority's Strict Test Nanjing Tycho's Wheel Defect Detection System Passes US Railroads Authority's Strict Test

(Yicai Global) March 23 -- Nanjing Tycho Information Technology Co., a subsidiary of China High-speed Railway Technology Co., CHSR, plans to march into the North American market as its rail wheel defect detection system gets the green light from the Association of American Railroads.

Nanjing Tycho's independently researched and developed automated testing system for wheel cracks has passed the test conducted by the Transportation Technology Center Inc., subordinate to the Association, said the rail transit technology service provider in a statement yesterday.

The verification test proved that the system is able to detect wheel defects such as vertical rim cracks, surface peeling-off and fatigue cracks on the shallow surface when a train runs at the highest speed of 24 kilometers per hour.

Starting from 2014, the detection samples provided by Nanjing Tycho underwent a comprehensive test in terms of use, reliability and ease of maintenance under rigorous conditions as required by TTCI, per the statement.

The result shows that the Chinese railway industry has gained recognition from the authoritative testing body in North America after strict tests, the statement added. The company is now actively seeking cooperation with the authority to offer the system to railroad firms at all levels in North America.
