Most Job Requirements to Change by AI Era 2030, LinkedIn Exec Says Most Job Requirements to Change by AI Era 2030, LinkedIn Exec Says

(Yicai) Feb. 26 -- Most jobs will pose different requirements by 2030 amid the increasing influence of artificial intelligence that underlines competitive advantages in communication, creativity, and curiosity, according to the chief economic opportunity officer of LinkedIn.

The skill requirements of 70 percent of jobs will change significantly by 2030, Aneesh Raman told Yicai during the recent Talent Connect Asia summit. Relying solely on current job-fit criteria will fail to meet future competency needs, he added.

Over 60 percent of global professionals are actively seeking new jobs in 2025 amid falling AI costs and rising workplace anxiety, per research from the American career platform. Jobseekers increasingly pay attention to a company's learning culture, as AI is likely to make job content significantly different within just one or two years, Raman said.

While AI and automation cannot replace human skills, their growing capacity to undertake intellectual and labor-intensive tasks is reshaping workplaces.

In an era of innovation economy, hiring priorities are shifting from past achievements to core competencies, Raman noted, adding that communication, creativity, compassion, courage, and curiosity will define human competitiveness in the AI era. Over 90 percent of Asia-Pacific corporate executives prefer candidates skilled in AI tools over those with more work experience but less confidence in AI, Raman added.

AI is also transforming recruitment processes. Since launching smart hiring assistant Recruiter last year, LinkedIn found that hiring managers using AI-assisted messaging achieved a 44 percent candidate acceptance rate, higher than non-users, with candidate replies arriving 11 percent quicker.
