(Yicai Global) Nov. 4 – Participants at the first China International Import Expo will display more than 100 brand new products for the first time at the event, which starts tomorrow.

Over 3,000 companies have signed up to participate, including over 200 world leading enterprises from the Fortune 500 list, Wang Bingnan, vice commerce minister, said at a press conference. More than 100 new products and technologies will be debuted, he added.

Leading pharmaceutical players such as Roche, Bayer, Sanofi, AstraZeneca, Medtronic will bring multiple cutting-edge high-tech products, including the world's smallest heart pacemakers, the world's smallest blood pressure monitor, and the world's first infant special NMR spectrometer.

At the high-end equipment exhibition area, many international top tech enterprises such as GE, DuPont, Canon, Hitachi, Schneider, Microsoft and Dell, and high-tech manufacturing companies such as Kuka and ABB will showcase their latest innovations. Other high-tech manufacturing enterprises such as Honeywell, Siemens and Mitsubishi Motors will also exhibit.

The auto exhibition area has attracted 69 global carmakers, according to Wang. Hyundai, GM, Nissan, Toyota, Ford, Mercedes-Benz and BMW will all put their models on display. Companies including Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini will also showcase their latest developments in autonomous driving, connectivity and digital technology. Tesla will display its mid-sized Model 3 vehicle, while Jaguar Land Rover will display the first luxury pure electric high-performance sports car. A Slovakian firm will also bring the world's first flying car to CIIE.
