(Yicai) April 16 -- China's Mindray Bio-Medical Electronics pledged it complies with the rules after Bloomberg reported that the European Union is planning on launching an investigation into China's procurement of medical devices.
Mindray, a maker of hospital equipment, has always actively pursued free trade, strictly complied with laws, regulations, and regulatory requirements of different countries, and participated in market competition in accordance with the law, Securities Times reported today, citing the Shenzhen-based firm.
Bloomberg reported yesterday that the EU may announce as early as this week a probe into China’s procurement of medical devices, hoping to eliminate concerns that the Chinese government unfairly favors domestic suppliers. This is the first time for the EU to use its International Procurement Instrument and the move could result in the trading bloc curtailing Chinese access to its tenders.
Mindray added that for years, the firm's products have won the trust of customers from around the world, including Europe. With high-quality products, the company has brought safe, efficient, and accessible medical services to residents, helping to improve public health and quality of life, per the enterprise that has been active abroad for over two decades.
Mindray has subsidiaries in 40 countries, with products exported to over 190 countries and regions, according to its website.
