(Yicai Global) Oct. 12 -- Shenzhen Lumi United Technology Co., part of Xiaomi Technology Co., has unveiled a smart camera named Aqara, which enables users to remotely view their home status and connect to Xiao Mi human body, door and window sensors and other Zigbee Internet of Things sub-devices to improve home safety.
Once the Mi sensors detect an intruder, it sends an alert to the user along with a 12-second video clip of the scene. Even at night, the camera can capture clear videos and warn users immediately in a bid to prevent loss of property.
The Aqara camera has a 180-degree, ultra-wide-angle 1080p high-definition lens, and can automatically record HD videos of children and pets. Users can interact with children or pets using its voice communication function. The camera supports video storage and the video clips it saves can be used as evidence in investigations.
In order to protect user privacy, Aqara has a sleep mode and uses triple-encryption algorithms to prevent video leaks. The crowdfunding price for the product is currently set at CNY169 (USD25.65).
