Lotte Mart Ramps Up Marketing During Chinese National Week to Target Tourists From Greater China

(Yicai Global) Sept. 26 -- South Korea's Lotte Mart, owned by Lotte Group, will run promotional activities during China's National Week holiday, which runs from Oct. 1 to Oct. 8 this year, to attract customers from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

During the holiday, also known as Golden Week, Lotte will team up with the Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange to hold a variety of activities targeting tourists from the Greater China who are visiting South Korea.

Tourists will be able to see members of Outlookie, a culture experience group composed of foreign students in South Korea, hold fashion shows wearing traditional Korean costumes at Lotte Stores, and watch a Taekwondo show by martial arts demo group K-Tigers.

The store will allow foreign tourists to try on traditional Korean outfits for free, set up a photograph area for visitors wearing the outfit, and partner with Chinese social media app WeChat, run by Tencent Holdings Ltd. [HKG:0700], to hold a lucky draw and offer up a range of prizes, such as Samsung Electronics Co.'s [KRX:005930] new flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 8, and coupons for free stays at Lotte hotels.
