(Yicai Global) March 17 -- Shares of Chinese podcast platform Lizhi surged after renowned US short-seller Citron Research gave the stock the target price of USD30.

Lizhi's equity price [NASDAQ: LIZI] jumped by 29.5 percent to USD13.65 yesterday. Its market cap rose to USD630.9 million.

TheLos Angeles-headquartered company tweeted yesterday that theleading Chinese audio live-streaming company has a market value of only USD400 million.

Lizhi's enterprise value-to-revenue is 1.4, while the corresponding figure for Dubai-based voice-centric social media platform Yalla Group is 17.2, according to Citron Research. This means that each monthly active user equals USD7 at the Chinese firm whereas the numberfor Yallais USD221, it added.

The Guangzhou-based user-generated content platform is likely to benefit from China's tightening anti-monopoly regulation, said the investment newsletter publisher.

Lizhi posted CNY420 million (USD64.6 million) in revenue in the fourth quarter, up 15 percent from the same period in 2019, according to its earnings report. Its net profit under non-generally accepted accounting principles was CNY5.4 million (USD830,693) after reporting a net loss of CNY133 million a year earlier.
