(Yicai) Oct. 9 -- The founder and chief executive officer of Li Auto has resigned from the positions of legal representative and manager at the units of the Chinese new energy vehicle startup.

Li Xiang stepped down, and Feng Weili will replace him, according to corporate information platform Qichacha. Li will continue to serve as the executive director of the units.

Feng works at Li Auto’s department of legal affairs. Feng owned one of the Beijing-based carmaker’s two institutional shareholders when founded in 2015.

These are standard adjustments and will not result in any changes in these companies’ management, Li Auto explained.

At the end of last year, Li said in an internal letter that Li Auto would transform its organizational structure into a matrix organization from a vertical leadership system

In April, Li Auto added two new departments, the Office for Chief Financial Officer, in which CFO Li Tie will oversee reforms of procedures, organization, and finance, and the Sales and Service Group, with Huawei Technologies’ former Senior Executive Zou Liangjun in charge and reporting to directly to Li.

Li Auto delivered 106,000 vehicles in the third quarter of the year, up 296 percent from a year earlier, with the figure in the first three quarters reaching 244,000 units, according to official data.
