(Yicai Global) Oct. 27 -- Media report that Lenovo Group Ltd.[HK:00992] has decided to bring the personal computer business of Fujitsu Ltd. [TYO:6702] under its control. Lenovo, however, says the two are just exploring strategic cooperation in the global PC market, with no agreement yet forthcoming.
Lenovo announced today at the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd. that it is in talks with Fujitsu -- Japan's second-biggest PC maker – over potential strategic collaboration in PC research, development, design and manufacturing for the global market. At this juncture, the two have not agreed on any major terms or concluded any final agreements on their cooperation.
Japanese media earlier reported that Lenovo and Fujitsu are discussing establishing a joint venture that will take over Fujitsu's PC business.
