(Yicai Global) Jan. 18 -- JD.Com will partner up with a bank and voice recognition firm to set up an artificial intelligence lab to make China's online payment sector more convenient and secure.

JD.Com, Industrial Bank Co. and Iflytek Co. penned the deal in Beijing today, state-owned China News Service reported. During the signing ceremony, the lender showcased an intelligent speaker which can help customers inquire about their account and make online payments.

As part of JD.Com's Ding Dong intelligent speaker series, product speaker will soon sell on JD.Com's online marketplace and the bank's self-operated e-commerce store.

The e-tail behemoth penned deals yesterday with 10 domestic and foreign consumer brands, including L'Oreal and Mead Johnson, to design customized Ding Dong speakers. These will serve as multi-functional AI assistants and are knowledgeable in cosmetics, mother-baby products, health and food.

Industrial Bank also teamed up with Microsoft Corp. on Jan. 10 to transform its building into a high-tech intelligent bank.
