Jason Luo Steps Up as Head of Ford China

(Yicai Global) Aug. 24 -- Jason Luo will serve as the board chairman and chief executive of Ford Motor (China) Ltd. from Sept. 1, Ford Motor Co. [NYSE:F] said today.

Luo will oversee Ford's operations in Greater China including the company's import business, the Lincoln brand, Changan Ford Automobile Co., Jiangling Motors Co. and other activities in the region.

Before joining Ford China, the 51-year-old was the global president and chief executive at automotive safety system developer Key Safety Systems. In his 10 years there, he successfully led a business transformation and achieved significant sales growth in China.

"Jason's leadership and track record of business growth and transformation in China make him the ideal person to lead Ford in the world's largest vehicle market," said Peter Fleet, Ford group vice president and Ford Asia Pacific president. "He will help us raise our vision in China as we become more nimble and operationally fit, expand vehicle electrification and begin to localize Lincoln vehicle assembly."

Luo will be based in Shanghai and report to Peter Fleet.
