(CBN - Global) April 11 -- The four major Japanese carmakers Nissan, Toyota, Honda and Mazda all posted positive sales growth in March. This was mainly driven by an increase in shipments of low-emission cars thanks to a government incentive of a 50 percent cut in value-added tax.
Toyota Motor Corp. [NYSE:TM] saw an over 40.6 percent surge year-on-year in auto sales shifting 100,500 vehicles last month. Nissan Motor Co. [TYO:7201] was the best seller in March with 110,200 cars. Honda Motor Co. [NYSE:HMC] also registered a 14.7 percent increase in sales.
