(Yicai Global) June 8 -- Hatsune Miku, the Japanese virtual idol and singer, also known as Chuyin Weilai in China, has joined the country’s largest e-commerce platform Taobao to do live streams, according to a statement Taobao released today.
Users can have their own virtual images interact with Chuyin, taking joint photos, chatting or dancing together, said Taobao, which is under tech titan Alibaba Group Holding. Over 2.7 million people have visited the cyber-star’s profile within half a day.
Hatsune Miku is a singer and idol in the image of a teenage girl with long, turquoise pigtails. She is very popular among Chinese youth.
