(Yicai Global) Dec. 4 -- Hong Kong film star Jackie Chanwill serve as director of the renowned Chinese state-owned movie concern Changchun Film Studio Group Corp. and will also strive for cooperation between his films and the group, which may include Rush Hour 4 and Shanghai Noon 3, the actor said.

Changchun Film Studio Group, founded in October 1945, was the first movie studio in New China and has shot serial films with special meaning in the history of Chinese cinematography, such as The White-haired Girl and Heroic Breed.

The first film Chan will support as chief director will be a movie famous Chinese actor Liu Ye self-directed for the first time, Chan revealed at the signing. The now 39-year-old Liu won the award for Best Actor at the Taiwan Golden Horse Awards in 2001.
