(Yicai Global) Aug. 27 -- Universal Studios’ new theme park in Beijing, the third in Asia after Tokyo and Singapore, will finally throw open its doors after three years of construction on Sept. 1 for a trial period.
The theme park, the Universal City Walk, which refers to its entertainment and retail areas and two hotels will be open to invited guests only during the period of trial operation, Universal Beijing Resort said on its WeChat account on Aug. 24. No tickets will be sold to the public.
The 200,000 square-meter park plans to open fully next year and will feature seven zones, namely Hollywood, Transformers Metrobase, Kung Fu Panda Land of Awesomeness, WaterWorld, Jurassic World Isla Nublar, Minion Land the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the Beijing Daily reported earlier. Ticket prices have yet to be announced.
