(Yicai Global) Aug. 24 -- Shanghai's Sihang Warehouse Battle Memorial has received an influx of visitors after the Eight Hundred, a Chinese blockbuster that is based on a key wartime battle set in the warehouse, premiered on Aug. 21.

The average number of visitors has reached the daily limit of 2,500 people every day since the movie was released and all the slots for the next three days are fully booked, the museum said in a statement yesterday.

The movie's name refers to the last Chinese troops that defended the warehouse for four days in 1937 before Shanghai was invaded by Japanese soldiers.

People were lining up to enter the museum yesterday.

The building has been restored so that the original damages show.

The museum has life-size wax figures to help viewers learn about the history of the building.

Historical photos show the scale of destruction by the battle.

The museum has collected photos of Xie Jinyuan, the general who led the "eight hundred warriors."
