(Yicai Global) Jan. 13 -- Tesla’s much anticipated China-made Model Y cars are on public display for the first time at the US electric car giant’s Shanghai Experience Center. The sports utility vehicle, which is a bigger, more luxurious version of the Model 3, is expected to start deliveries this month.
A customer gets to test drive the Model Y. The new energy vehicle has a starting price 30 percent less than imported models.
A computer screen displays the 360-degree visual field of the Model Y using front, side and rear cameras. The front-facing radar can detect obstacles at a distance and help the driver to park.
A customer sits in the driver’s seat with arms folded, experiencing the auto’s driverless function.
The latest version of the Model 3, which boasts a longer range among other upgraded features, is also on display and is expected to be available from this month.
Visitors try out the gleaming Tesla models on display at the Shanghai Experience Center, located on the former World Expo site.
