(Yicai Global) Sept. 4 -- A new section of Nanjing Road that will extend the pedestrianized area of Shanghai’s main shopping street to the famous Bund riverfront is scheduled to open on Sept. 12 at the same time as the Shanghai Tourism Festival.

Shanghai kicked off the expansion project at the end of last year. It involved replacing the road with a walkway, new signage and greenery.
