(Yicai) Oct. 16 -- The second session of the bi-annual China Import and Export Fair, better known as Canton Fair, has kicked off with a record high of more than 30,000 enterprises and nearly 250,000 overseas buyers taking part.

The 136th Canton Fair opened in Guangzhou yesterday and will run through Nov. 4. About 29,400 companies at the fair are exporters, marking a significant milestone for China's international trade.

The fair will be held in three phases. The first is themed ‘Advanced Manufacturing’ and features over 8,700 booths showcasing cutting-edge industries, including electronics and home appliances, new energy tech, new energy vehicles, smart mobility solutions, industrial automation, and intelligent manufacturing.

The first phase reflects China's ongoing commitment to industrial upgrading and technological innovation. It also highlights the country's growing strengths in new energy, smart manufacturing, and high-tech consumer electronics.

The second phase will have the theme ‘Quality Home Living’ and the third ‘Better Life.’
