(Yicai) Jan. 9 -- Rescue and relief efforts continue following the strong quake that struck Dingri county in Xigaze in China’s southwestern Xizang Autonomous Region on Jan. 7. Power supply, communications, and road access in the affected area have largely been restored.

As of 7 p.m. yesterday, the 6.8-magnitude temblor had claimed 126 lives and left 188 people injured.
