(Yicai Global) Aug. 21 -- The second flood wave in the Jialing River and the fifth flood crest in the Yangtze River from unrelenting rainfall upstream have converged on Chongqing in the biggest flood in over 40 years, overspreading some of the southwestern Chinese megacity's roads, and causing trains on its No. 2 monorail line to seem to skim over the flood like segmented water bugs.

The second flood in the Jialing River and the fifth flood in the Yangtze River flowed through Chongqing after the pair met up in an unholy alliance yesterday.

Chongqing's No. 2 monorail seems to be running right on the river.

The deluge covers a riverside road near Chongqing's Huanghuayuan Bridge.
