(Yicai) Aug. 23 -- Tourists to the Putuo district section of Suzhou Creek, which runs through Shanghai, were treated to a series of activities, including boat tours and a light and water curtain show, recently as part of the Shanghai government’s open month of events to promote the city's summer allure.
The Putuo section of Suzhou Creek runs 21 kilometers and has 18 bends. It is equivalent to the length of a half-marathon, so it is also called the half-marathon Suzhou Creek. Many boats are moored at the Changhua Road Terminal in Suzhou Creek which is adjacent to the M50 Creative Park and the Tian’an Qianshu business district.
Boats at the Changfeng Park Terminal float peacefully in water that is lit up by the reflection from lights in nearby apartment blocks.
Tourists admire a light and water curtain show under the Wuning Road Bridge. It is the first bridge to display a light and water curtain show, adding a special touch to Suzhou Creek night life.
Tourists riding on a boat take photos of the stunning night vistas on both sides of the river.
Boats stay moored in the Changfeng Park Terminal during the day.
Visitors to the half-marathon Suzhou Creek as well as members of the media walk around the M50 Creative Park on Moganshan Road.
