(Yicai) Dec. 19 -- A magnitude-6.2 earthquake has hit China’s northeastern provinces of Gansu and Qinghai, killing at least 126 people, according to Xinhua News Agency.
The country’s deadliest quake in 13 years struck beneath rural Jishishan county in Gansu at 11.59 p.m. yesterday. Some 113 were killed in Gansu and 13 in Qinghai, with 20 people still unaccounted for there. At least 718 people were also injured.
An injured person is brought to a local hospital after the earthquake.
