(Yicai Global) July 17 -- The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, one of the country's biggest commercial lenders, has officially listed a USD1.6 billion equivalent dual-currency multi-tranche green bond on the London Stock Exchange.
The bond, issued by the bank's London unit, is the largest green bond to be listed on the stock exchange, the firm said in a statement.
The dual-currency green bond includes respective three-year and five-year floating rate dollar tranches of USD500 million, and a three-year floating-rate euro tranche of EUR500 million.
The successful issuance reflects the implementation of the China-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue held last year on core issues such as the Belt and Road Initiative, Green Finance and Infrastructure and Energy, an official from ICBC London said.
The proceeds will be used to support green projects such as clean transport, onshore renewable energy and offshore wind energy along the Belt and Road countries, including a UK offshore wind farm.
