(Yicai Global) July 11 -- Chinese radio system manufacturer, Hytera Communications Corp. Ltd. [SHE:002583], has been contracted to supply communication equipment and solutions for the construction of a nationwide public safety communication network in Angola. The contract is worth USD30.94 million.
Its wholly-owned subsidiary, Hytera Communications (Hong Kong) Co., has signed a procurement contract with China National Electronics Import & Export Corp. to supply Tetra communication systems, terminals and cross-system scheduling platform integration solutions to Angola's public security authorities, mainly police, fire, intelligence and customs police departments under the Angolan ministry of the interior, the company said in a statement yesterday.
The move is intended to help Angola build a dedicated nationwide communication cluster network, per the statement. Among the products to be supplied by Hytera are new-generation broadband and narrowband terminal devices, and it will mark the first extensive application of the products since their release on May 16.
The deal will make it easier for the company to further develop the Angolan market and to participate in national public safety network projects in other African countries, the statement added.
