Hytera Ups Cooperation with Uzbekistan, Signs USD33-Million Supply Contract Hytera Ups Cooperation with Uzbekistan, Signs USD33-Million Supply Contract

(Yicai Global) Aug. 28 – Hytera Communications will expand its cooperation with Uzbekistan by offering locals more special network communication products.

The company's wholly-owned unit Hytera Communications Hong Kong signed a procurement contract for special network communication products -- including terminals and systems -- with Uzbek Electric Equipment, with the contract amount USD33.16 million, said the Shenzhen-headquartered network communication services and equipment supplier in a statement today.

Hytera has been cooperating with the Uzbekistan-based company since April last year, as Yicai Global earlier reported, to introduce leading global special network communication technologies to the Central Asian nation to enhance local special network communications. Hytera provides product components and technologies, including primary machines and accessories, while the Uzbek firm undertakes assembly, production and marketing in local areas. The project was projected to have total output of USD30 million.

This cooperation won support from the Uzbek government, and the sales contract in this round raises the former agreement's value to USD58.3 million, far exceeding initial expectations.

This project will bolster long-term cooperative ties between the Chinese firm and Uzbek public security and industry customers, help it capture more market share in the country, and further localize its products, said the statement.

Uzbek Electric Equipment is a famous large voltage converter and telecom equipment supplier in the Commonwealth of Independent States, undertaking governmental power and communication projects for Uzbekistan and other former countries of the Soviet Union, per the statement.
